Based on data from App Annie Store Stats, we highlight apps that jumped the most ranking spots in the Overall charts for last seven days. To give you a global view on how the app stores are changing, we’re examining the top gaining apps in the USA, Japan and China.
How to read this chart
App Annie tracks the Top 1000 apps in the Overall category, so we consider non-ranking apps to have the rank of 1001 — so a reading of “1000″ in the chart means the app has jumped up 1000 spots in the last week, achieving #1 at some point in the last seven days.
Election-2012 by Hearst Television jumps 997 spots, peaking as the #4 Overall app on the iPhone Free charts. The American presidential election makes its mark on the iPhone top charts, with 4 apps registering huge gains.
